<p><a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/bath-shower.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-115" title="bath-shower" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/bath-shower-300x225.jpg" alt="Bath shower" width="276" height="207" /></a>Just over 2 years ago, I built a sauna and bathroom in the basement of our new home.  I also finished the family room and built a wine cellar.</p>
<p> <a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sauna.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-116" title="sauna" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sauna-225x300.jpg" alt="sauna" width="225" height="300" /></a>      <a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sauna-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-112" title="sauna-2" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sauna-2-225x300.jpg" alt="Sauna" width="204" height="292" /></a></p>
<p>Since that time, my wife has asked me to upgrade some of the elements of the basement &#8230; for example, she wants me to replace the simple mirror hanging above the sink in the bath/sauna, which you can see in the picture below  &#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/bath-mirror-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-111" title="bath-mirror-2" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/bath-mirror-2-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a><a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sauna-2.jpg"></a></p>
<p> &#8230; Then last Christmas my brother-in-law from Thunder Bay brought some black ash (which he cut in the field, sawed/milled to rough and dried himself &#8211; he does some very nice furniture too, primarily with this very beautiful wood) which I decided would be good to try for the bathroom pharmacy.  You may be able to see the nice grain in the rough pieces below.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/black-ash.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-110" title="black ash" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/black-ash-300x225.jpg" alt="Black ash" width="300" height="225" /></a> </p>
<p>So my objective is to replace the simple cedar framed mirror with one made from this black ash &#8230; here  are some shots of the work as it progressed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pharmacy-frame-set.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-114" title="pharmacy-frame-set" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pharmacy-frame-set-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a>     <a href="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pharmacy-components.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-113" title="pharmacy-components" src="http://www.natory.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pharmacy-components-225x300.jpg" alt="Bathroom Pharmacy" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Since I am a little short of black ash, I used some pine to make the back panels as you can see above.  I think I have enough ash left to make the shelves and mouldings for the top of the cabinet.</p>
<p>More to come &#8230;</p>
